General descriptionBad Deutsch-Altenburg lies in the Carnuntum Archaelogical Park, one of the top attractions in Lower Austria. The wellness area on the Danube is known as a "Roman Spa", as it was here that the Romans had their bathing facilities. The wide spectrum of treatments available ranges from therapies using sulphur, oxygen and baths treated with carbon dioxide through to underwater massage and water gymnastics, and to physical applications, revitalisation and weight loss therapies and acupuncture. At the centre of the park is the Carnuntum Archaelogical Museum. Experiencing nature in an unforgettable way is guaranteed by the Donau-Auen National Park, with its fauna and flora, and the WWF Nature Reserve in the Hundsheim Hills. Activities: Nordic Walking, hiking and cycling opportunities, Baton shooting, as well as swimming, riding and golf in the nearby area.
