General descriptionA town with its history in the Roman times. Evicence of the good wines and the warm hospitality were already mentioned in the "Song of the Nibelung". Today a popular meeting point for culturally interested individuals and those who enjoy a drop of the noble grape. Striking landmark: the 1.700-year-old Roman gate. The castle on Hauptplatz - once a Roman fort - is also woth a visit with its museum of early history. The museum in the Hunger tower displays excavations and ancient milestones. Ramblers and cyclists can choose between the 25 kilometres of marked hiking trails and 5 signposted cycle paths. Gians from prehistoric times can be gazed at close-up in the dinosaur park.
