General description | Almost 1900 years ago it was a Roman riding camp, in the 11th century it was home of the Babenbergs. Today Tulln is known as the town of roses, of trade fairs, of the Nibelungs, and of culture. The Egon Schiele Museum displays over 100 original works. The Roman museum shows the life of the Roman soldiers and excavations from the former camp. Large exhibitions take place every year in the erstwhile Minorite Monastery. Worth seeing: the old town, the Roman tower, the Karner, the parish church, the Minorite Church, the town's statue of Marc Aurelius. |
