Access: The park can be reached by crossing the channels of the Danube with small boats or with a ferry-boat with departure points in the localities around the Small Moor of Braila, the main departure point being Braila.

The nature park lake was included on the Ramsar list of wet lands, being of international importance.

Within the park, there were identified numerous types of habitats: forests of willows, natural eutrophic lakes, riverside coppices with willows and poplars, swamps, shrubberies.

The main tourist attractions in the vicinity of the park are: the Greek - Roman - Byzantine system of fortifications, built along the Danube; the Macin Mountains.
